It is LoopScrap's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website loopscrap.com, our mobile application, and any other platforms we own and operate (together, the "Service"). This Service is operated by LoopScrap Recyclables Trading, based in Chennai, India.
We only ask for personal information when it is necessary to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent, and we let you know why we're collecting it and how it will be used.
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Contact details - your name and mobile number, which we use to create your account and sign you in (we sign you in using a one-time password, or OTP, sent to your mobile number).
- Location information - with your permission, we use your device's GPS or similar technology to determine your location so we can arrange pickups and show you relevant information. See Location and Maps below.
- Address information - the pickup or service addresses you enter or search for.
- Payout details - the payment details you choose for receiving money for your scrap, such as your UPI ID, PhonePe / Google Pay / Paytm number, or bank account details. We use these only to pay you.
- Photos - if you choose to upload images of your scrap, we access the photos or camera you select for that purpose.
- Order and activity data - the items, bookings, and order history associated with your account.
- Device and notification data - a device push token so we can send you notifications about your orders and important updates.
Our mobile application uses Google Maps and related Google location services (including Geocoding and Places) to display maps, let you search for addresses, and convert map locations into readable addresses for your pickups.
- We use your location strictly for service purposes - arranging and fulfilling pickups and deliveries - and we do not share it with other users.
- To provide these features, location and address information you use in the app is processed by Google. Your use of these features is therefore also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
- We only access your location while you are using the app (foreground). We do not track your location in the background.
You can allow or decline location access through your device settings. Some features, such as automatic pickup-address selection, may not work without it.
With your permission, we send push notifications to keep you updated about your orders and important information. To deliver these, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and the Expo push service, which process the device push token described above. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
We retain collected information only for as long as necessary to provide you with the requested service, or as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Any data we store is protected within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. Information you send to us is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with the public or with other users. We do rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate the Service, and we share information with them only to the extent needed to provide it to you:
- Google Maps Platform (maps, geocoding, address search) - see Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and the Expo push service - to deliver push notifications.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers - to run our website, application, and databases.
We may also disclose information where required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety and those of our users.
Our website and mobile application may contain links to external websites not operated by us. Please note that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and we cannot accept responsibility for their respective privacy policies.
You are free to decline our request for personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide some services without it. You can also control app permissions (location, camera, notifications) at any time through your device settings.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. To do so, please follow the steps on our Account Deletion page, or contact us using the details below. Once we verify your request, we will delete your account and personal data from our systems, except for any information we are required to retain by law.
